Consolidating Data Visualization

For wireless operators, enterprise solutions present a challenge for end user adoption. Multiple tools mean multiple interfaces. To get past this challenge, companies need purchase all tools from the same vendor and risk pricing or look towards consolidated visualization platforms. This means purchasing solutions that allow for layer export and APIs for data extraction rather than each having a front end. Front end development can be a costly business. Each tool that requires front end development must also pass along those costs in the price of the solution.

Each enterprise process in the a wireless network requires inputs, data crunching and results. Results can be exported or tapped into for visualization. The diagram below represents a common operator tool architecture for 3G & 4G networks. Each box on the left represents separate tool functionality. Although each tool is separately administered and validated, by consolidating the visualization of results, each can be looked at together for analysis, impacts, and furthering the data analysis through a common ecosystem.

A single data visualization platform makes network teams more efficient and ensures that data being generated is placed in an area of general use, rather than restricted by individual tool authorizations and end user training. Additionally, by having a single platform, operators can control the front end to focus on their network tasks at hand rather than what each tool user develops in general. Essentially, customization of data for improved inter-department communication, improved end user experience, and all teams speaking a common language on results.
